San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Aviation Air Support Leads to Arrest of Carjacking Suspect with Felony Warrant

On May 12, 2022, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Aviation was informed that a carjacking suspect was in their jurisdiction. The vehicle was remotely tracked while ground units and air support with a TrakkaCam TC-300 long-range, EO/IR multispectral imaging sensor were dispatched. During the 50-minute pursuit, a spike-strip was deployed by CHP; the suspect fled on foot from the disabled vehicle and was quickly taken into custody when he is being held on felony charges stemming from his arrest, as well as an outstanding felony warrant.
